Resident Evil 6 was hinted at just two days ago 1/18/12 via NoHopeLeft.com which showcased the rumored China setting, and numerous Bio-hazard symbols posted around the site and now as you probably know by now the announcement trailer has been released but doesn't really explain much of what is going on with the story. The trailer is constantly flashing to another scene making it slightly difficult to get a good look of what is going on. Lucky for you if you didn't catch every little detail shown in trailer, I will go over what I can of what's going on. Unfortunately a few subjects that I talk about in this article are not officially confirmed by Capcom and is just pure speculation.First off I want to discuss the characters that were shown in the trailer, I'll begin with the obvious ones first. So the first character that was presented in the trailer is none other than Leon S. Kennedy. Making his first appearance in Resident Evil 2, second appearance in Resident Evil Gaiden, third appearance in Resident Evil 4, and his most recent appearance in Resident Evil: Degeneration. The first thing you will notice is that Leon looks a lot older than he did when he was last seen in Resident Evil: Degeneration and still working for the government. Now the great thing about this is they didn't decide to completely change how he looks or change his character, *ahem* DMC.
Not bad Capcom, not bad at all. However, I do look like Sawyer from the that TV series Lost
I said no cameras!
Last but not least, Ashley Graham. Is this Ashley? It sure sounds and looks like her. She was shown in the same segments as buzz cut guy was shown. More or less it looks like this time she will be helping you more than you will be helping her, what a relief right? Don't want to have to babysit her again like we did in Resident Evil 4. Not much to really say about her except for the fact that her father is dead, there's going to be some tears shed, she's older, and doesn't seem that scared of the situation. This is just a trailer though so she's probably gotten used to it during the point of the game shown in the trailer.
Glad to see you're helping out this time around.
Now that I've talked about the characters that I wanted to talk about, I want to take a minute to discuss the gameplay. One word, AMAZING! I haven't seen a game look this good ever before, this game looks absolutely astonishing and I'm not talking about the graphics, that's just an extra bonus on top of everything else. Sprinting, dodge rolls, melee attacks, wall hugging, diving/sliding, and possibly much more! You can tell a lot of work has been put into this game. So much has been improved upon from the previous installment for better or for worse for example "tank controls" appear to be absent from this game. Another great looking feature is the ability to play as three separate characters! I'm hoping this is similar to how older Resident Evil games used to be where you chose one character to play as at the beginning of the game and played through their entire story then played as a different character for a whole new experience.
Civilians evacuating the city while I'm exterminating Zombies? That's new.
The storyline to Resident Evil 6 is very vague at this current time until new trailers are officially released by Capcom or interviewers get to interviewing the developers. The only theory I can come up with on how the virus spread is through this buzz cut guy, but according to Helena Harper "it's all her fault", very confusing as of now. The game is looking very dramatic and I feel like this will be one of the best Resident Evil titles story wise to ever be created, it's like one big family reunion. I am very hyped for this game and can not wait for November 20th of this year to be able to play this game. For more information of the game you can follow Capcom's social networks shown at the end of the trailer.
