FIRST JAPANESE VIDEO GAME IMPORT

What, I finally own my very own Japanese video game?! Yes, that is correct, and what's a better title to be the first of many Japanese imports I'll be adding to my collection? None other than the PS2 title, Tales of Rebirth. This game was released in 2004 and I had my eye on it for quite some time but not knowing a single thing on how to read Japanese I never bought it, hoping that it would be later translated to English. But here we are seven years later and there is still no sign of an American release for this game.

Now you may think that since I finally purchased the game that I know the Japanese language pretty well, right? Well no, my Japanese is very poor. For the most part I can read all of Hiragana and Katakana proficiently, though I only know 0.01% of what the words mean, and Kanji... Don't even get me started on Kanji. Kanji just makes my brain melt the second I take a look at it, but I'll still continue to attempt to learn it though it won't be easy. However since I don't know much Japanese I'll be playing this game with a translation guide for the most part.

Now about the game itself, I haven't had  much time to play the game other than the intro, due to a few technical difficulties I need to work out before I can continue playing, but so far the game is really enjoyable right off the bat with, creative and interesting characters, beautiful artwork, a great combat system, and a smooth frame rate. Overall this game looks like it's going to be consuming a lot of my free time in the near future and I plan to write a full spoiler-free review after I've sat down and had some more time with the game.

Here are some pictures I took of the box art, manual, and game disc, everything was practically brand new!
