Have you ever wanted to play a game which requires at least two people to play to get the most entertainment out of, but absolutely no one plays said game? Well In this day and age we do have online play but ninety-nine percent of the time that just doesn't cut it with fighting games due to the poor net-code used. So what other options do you have? Well there's quite a few so grab a drink and continue reading.

One does not simply get better without practicing.
Well the first and most obvious option you have is to either make a friend, (One who plays KOFXIII of course) or convince a friend to learn and play the game with you. Even though The King of Fighter XIII is a very fun fighting game to play, it has a extremely high learning curve compared to the majority of the other fighting games currently on the market right now, thus easily scaring off newcomers. But don't let yourself or your training partner be discouraged by this because once you learn to play The King of Fighters XIII at, at least a mediocre playing level it will be a blast from there on forward.

The King of Fighters XIII is by the no means the hardest game to play ever but will definitely require much more effort than games like Marvel Vs Capcom 3.
If you have already tried convincing your friends to play with you or tried meeting new friends, and both are unsuccessful, your next best bet is to travel. When I say "travel" I don't exactly mean you need to travel across the nation but at the very least over to the next city. You'd be surprised how many people are willing to play the game in the next city over just twenty to fifty miles away, but very few to none in your current city. Most communities are very accepting of newcomers to fighting and are willing to teach you the fundamentals and advanced tactics to make you a stronger player. Just remember this, No player of fighting games wants an easy win, unless he's only in it for the money. There's just no entertainment from beating on a player controlled training dummy, so nine times out of ten the better player will give tips to help their opponents become much more of a threat the next time they face off.

Also remember that top tier isn't the answer.
|
Remember that character choice is key.
Then there is option number three. For the most part you can play the game solo and, watch other player match videos online while observing how they play and try to reenact that into your own play-style. While not the most effective method of learning how to play The King of Fighters XIII it's just one more step to becoming better at the game, and in addition to watching others play the game, there are also forums where you can discuss strategies, combos, and share info related to specific characters which in my opinion is much more effective. The best place to do this would be
Shoryuken.com or
Dreamcancel.com in their forum sections.

And your final option is an option I highly
don't recommend! This would be to play online. Now most people would think, "well my internet connection is fast so I don't have anything to worry about". But sorry, I hate to break it to you but The King of Fighters XIII net-code is just too bad to even recommend, and I would not take any match played online seriously or even use that in judgement to how good you are at the game. Even with connections that are three or 4 bar connections have a extremely high amount of noticeable lag making the game almost impossible to play the same way you would in an offline setting. So in place of this I recommend that you do your best to learn the game in anyway possible, play through the games tutorial, trials, put time in training mode, and wholeheartedly accept and apply any decent to high level advice given to you.
